Township's Swift Action Mitigates Flooding Impact- Video & Story

On Friday, January 26, 2024 Following severe flooding at 30 Mile & Campground, Supervisor Sebastian 'Sam' Previti put in place measures to address the crisis,
preventing further damage to numerous residents' properties.

Sam Closing Road FLOOD

In response to the flooding crisis, Supervisor Previti took immediate action to safeguard the community.
His decisive steps included the closure of the affected road and the instruction to Washington Township Department of Public Works (DPW) employees to close a culvert,
effectively diverting additional floodwaters away from residential areas.

Sam and Vactor Truck FLOOD

Supervisor Previti also initiated the deployment of the township's Vactor truck to extract water from the scene, significantly reducing the water level. Furthermore, area obstructions in drains were promptly removed, allowing the water to recede by over a foot, effectively minimizing the risk of further water seepage into residents' basements.  Sebastian Sam Previti stated, “ I want to thank all the DPW Staff for working with me to reduce the damage to homeowners, allowing our staff to step up and help mitigate further damage to homeowners,.”  He further added, ”Special thanks to our Engineer as I spoke with him hourly to ensure my mitigation efforts were correct to implement.”
